Welcome to Key Stage 4

Located in the small market town of Cowbridge, the Pupil Referral Unit provides education and support for up to 36 Key Stage 4 students (aged 14 to 16) as an alternative to mainstream school. All students follow a learning pathway that is tailored to their individual needs, which may consist of academic tuition, vocational training and/or extended work experience. This would generally be on a full-time basis providing up to 25 hours per week, including time spent with external training providers or work experience placements. 

The educational programme seeks to provide for the students’ intellectual, social and emotional needs. Students are encouraged to participate in an exciting and challenging curriculum with a view to expanding their career opportunities and achieving a wide range of accreditation.
